How to Host Wine Night Using All Trader Joe's Products
Hi everyone!
This weekend, I had the pleasure of hosting my dear friends for wine night! My friend, Heather, flew in from Seattle so we all got to get together for some wine and food! We don’t get together very often, so when we do we really make the most out of it.
I absolutely love hosting friends and family. It makes me so happy to bring people together and bond over good food and good conversation. As I am getting older, I am learning that it is truly the most important thing to have good friends.
My whole life, both of my parents have always been incredible hosts. They have taught me everything I know and I am so thankful for them. Growing up, I loved when they had get together’s because they always went all out - no matter how big or small the group was. Even if it was just 5 people, they would always make it feel like an elegant affair.
Like everyone else, I adore Trader Joe’s with everything I have in me. I couldn’t even imagine not having one close to me. The food is so affordable and SO GOOD! My husband used to be against buying all of our groceries from there, but I slowly started getting more of his favorite things but Trader Joe’s brand and when he found out he was blown away… now he’s obsessed! We eat the orange chicken probably once a week, it’s just too good!
Because the food is so affordable, it’s so easy to put together a killer charcuterie board! Making a charcuterie board can get very expensive depending on what meat and cheese you get. I wanted to go to Trader Joe’s to get all of my makings and I will never go anywhere else now. I was able to get everything for such a great price and I thought I would share what I learned and what I got!
Here’s what you will need:
A wood or marble tray (linked some suggestions here!)
Cheese Knives
Nut Bowls
Dried Fruit
Salami and Prosciutto
Crackers & Breadsticks
A Few Different Cheeses
Pita Chips, Hummus and Veggies
Fruit, Nuts, Honey, etc..
And now comes the fun part… Putting it all together! To be honest, I had never put together a true charcuterie board before this, so I was truly winging it. I’ve put together meat and cheese boards, but adding in the extra fruit and nuts is the fun part.
I started with the big stuff, the nut bowl, the cheeses and meats. Once all of those were placed, I just started spreading out the little things. The apricots, dried lemon and blueberries can just be placed in the empty spaces and they really make it fresh and put together.
I know there are a lot of different ways to put together a charcuterie board. Some people do a little more savory with olives and hearty items, but I like to keep things a little more sweeter with the honey roasted peanuts, honey and sweet mango. Next time I will try the savory route!
And there you have it! This was so, so fun to put together and it is so affordable to do using Trader Joe’s products. If I went to a normal grocery store or Whole Foods, I guarantee it would have been $100 more expensive than Trader Joe’s. Plus, Trader Joe’s is just awesome and has everything you need.
I did get some great wine at Trader Joe’s, but I did not buy the Aperol or Elderflower mixings there! I love a good aperol spritz, so I would be over the moon if TJ’s came out with a similar product!
